Zeroderm Ointment is a highly effective, multi-purpose 3-in-1 emollient designed specifically for chronic dry skin conditions.

Enriched with intensively moisture boosting ingredients, when used as part of a daily skin care routine Zerodem Ointment can help to soothe the symptoms of chronic dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis and restore the skin’s moisture levels to healthier levels.

Who is Zeroderm Ointment For?

Zeroderm ointment is hypoallergenic and suitable even for the most sensitive types of skin, including babies, children and adults living with such chronic dry skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.

How does Zeroderm Ointment work?

Ointments have the highest fat-content of all moisturising products available, making them particularly effective at sealing in moisture. They work by producing an oily layer over the skin surface to lock in water, which in turn helps to restore the skin’s natural barrier function (which is often compromised in skin that is affected by eczema or psoriasis).

With the skin’s barrier function restored, ointments help to prevent irritants, allergens and other harmful bacteria from being able to enter the skin, thereby reducing the risk of flare ups and infection.

Top tip:

Normal soaps can be very drying on the skin, so use Zeroderm ointment both as a bath additive and soap substitute to give your skin an intensive moisture boost whilst you wash.

How should Zeroderm Ointment be used?

When used as a moisturising emollient, apply on affected areas on the dry skin as often as necessary. Use as a bath additive by melting approximately 4 grams of ointment in a suitable container of hot water and then add to the bath water. If used as a substitute for soap, take a small quantity of ointment then lather under warm water and use as you normally would when washing and showering. Afterwards, pat the skin dry with a soft towel.

These directions apply for both adults and children.

Zeroderm Ointment is unlikely to have negative or harmful effects when it is used as directed on the label, however refrain from use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

Be aware that when used in the shower or bath the floor may become slippery, so take extra caution that you don’t fall or injure yourself.

Apply externally only and avoid contact with your eyes.

Scientific Research

What do the HelloSkin Experts Say?

Our experts were not able to find scientific data on Zeroderm Ointment on psoriatic lesions. However, the product contains high amounts of liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin, which is known to limit water evaporation from the skin surface, thereby helping the skin to restore to healthier moisture levels (1).
