Eucerin Repair Plus Hand Cream 5% Urea is designed for use by people with dry to severely dry skin on their hands.
It is another in the replenishing and moisturising range from Eucerin, designed for people with dry skin conditions, and containing urea as its main active ingredient.
Hands are often the first part of the body to show signs of dry skin. This may start from cold weather or be exacerbated by the harsh chemicals contained in many household soaps and detergents, which can strip skin of essential oils, reduce water retention, and increase exposure to irritants.
In people with a dry skin condition, such as eczema, urea levels have often been depleted and they experience excess moisture loss from damage to the skin’s protective barrier. This can cause scaling, cracking, or fissuring.
By helping to replace lost urea, this hand cream helps the skin on the hands heal naturally. The urea helps to draw moisture from deeper levels of the skin to the upper layers and, by combining with lactate and other ingredients, moisture loss is minimised. This leaves the skin feeling smoother, softer, less tight, and less itchy.
Being free of colour and fragrance means this cream is less likely to produce an allergic reaction and is generally well tolerated.
