As with other products in the same range, Eucerin AtoControl Bath & Shower Oil uses the soothing and moisturising properties of natural oils to rehydrate and relieve skin that is dry and irritated.

This bath and shower oil can be used as part of the daily cleansing routine. Unlike many common cleansers, it contains no soap, fragrance, colorants, preservatives, or other chemicals that can further damage skin that is dry, rough, and irritated. Rather than potentially increasing dryness and itching, like other cleansers, this bath oil works to sooth, regenerate, and protect skin.

It contains castor seed oil and other oils that are rich in fatty acids. In fact, Omega oils constitute over 50% of this product.

In people with very dry skin, its natural protective barrier has often become damaged, increasing moisture loss and dehydration. This can make skin even itchier. The oil helps to repair the barrier and assists in replenishing the skin’s natural defence mechanism against excess water loss.

With daily use over time, the skin becomes softer, smoother, and less tight, and people with dry skin conditions will see their symptoms ease.

This oil can be used in the shower by children and adults and is suitable for use in the bath for infants over the age of 3 months. It is well-tolerated and is considered safe to use in conjunction with other pharmaceutical treatments for dry skin.

Apply this oil to wet skin during your normal bath or showering routine. For adults and children, it can be used in the shower or bath but, for infants under the age of 3 months, use only as a bath additive.

Massage the oil into the skin and then rinse thoroughly. Pat the skin dry gently with a soft towel. Do not rub vigorously.

Eucerin AtoControl Bath & Shower Oil should be kept away from children. Use it externally only, avoid contact with the eyes, and do not ingest.

If you have ever experienced an adverse reaction to any of the ingredients in this bath and shower oil, avoid use. Consult a doctor in the event of an unwanted skin reaction.

Scientific Research

For people with Psoriasis

HelloSkin’s experts did not find any clinical data on the benefits of Eucerin AtoControl Bath & Shower Oil in people with psoriasis. However, the product contains lauromacrogols and in people with dry and itchy scalp conditions, a leave-on combination product containing lauromacrogols applied to one half of the scalp 3 times per week for 4 weeks was shown to reduce itch (1).
