Cetraben Emollient Bath Additive is a clear, fragrance-free, moisturising bath formula, designed to be used daily in the bath or shower by people with dry skin.

For those suffering from a dry skin condition such as endogenous or exogenous eczema, the skin can become red, inflamed, or chapped. Adding this emollient to the daily bath, or applying it in the shower instead of soap or gel, will rehydrate skin and reduce symptoms associated with the condition.

A capful or two creates a soothing and cleansing bath, removing the need for harsh soaps that can strip the skin of essential oils.

Oils present in the Cetraben Emollient Bath Additive form an ‘occlusive’ layer on the skin, which helps rehydrate it by trapping more moisture and reducing evaporation. Because of this moisturising effect, the skin feels softer and smoother.

When added to a bath, it protects skin all over the body, not just in the areas of dry skin.

Cetraben Emollient Bath Additive can be used daily by adding to water.

For use in the bath, squeeze the bottle to fill the optic measurement – one measure of 10ml is sufficient for 10cm of warm bath water. Adults may need two measures, but half to one measure is sufficient for children.

For use in the shower, squeeze one optic measurement of the liquid into the hand. Apply gently to wet skin using a sponge if possible, and then rinse well with water.

While Cetraben Emollient Bath Additive can be used by children, it should be kept safely out of their reach.

Use externally only and take special care not to get it in the eyes. If this happens, wash the eye(s) with water. If it is accidentally swallowed, consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Check the ingredients carefully and, if you have a hypersensitivity to any of them, refrain from using.

Because of the oils present in the bath additive, take extra care when stepping in or out of the bath or shower. Surfaces are likely to be slippery.

If an allergic reaction or other unexpected reaction occurs, stop using the bath additive.

This product can be used safely when pregnant or breastfeeding – but, if in doubt, check with your doctor.

Side Effects

Scientific Research

For people with Psoriasis

HelloSkin’s experts did not find any clinical data on Cetraben Emollient Bath Additive on psoriatic lesions.

However, the product contains light liquid paraffin, which is known to help reduce water evaporation from the skin surface. In psoriatic lesions more water is lost by evaporation than in healthy skin (1).
