At least half of all people with psoriasis have it on their scalp. Scalp psoriasis can cause everything from mild localised scaling to thick lesions called plaques, affecting the entire scalp and sometimes extending onto the upper forehead, and behind or inside the ears. The lesions on the scalp and the areas around them can be quite itchy.
If you have mild to moderate scaling you may be able to keep it under good control with special shampoos and moisturizers.
If you have a more severe case or have psoriasis elsewhere on your body, you may need a medication that treats your whole body and for this you will need to see your doctor or a skin specialist.
