Products for Pimples

When a comedo (hair follicle clogged with bacteria, dead skin cells, and sebum) becomes inflamed, it is called a papule - a small red or pink bump less than 1 cm. Papules can also arise from normal-appearing skin. The inflammation can be caused by several factors including sebum (waxy substance produced by the sebaceous glands in the hair follicles), chemicals produced by the acne bacteria, pro-inflammatory mediators, and dead skin cells.
