Gels for Psoriasis

Gels are different from lotions and creams

Gels are water and oil-based products that are emulsified in a different way than in creams and lotions, which holds the oil and water together while in the bottle. When applied to the skin, the oil separates from the water, allowing it to stay on the skin for a longer period of time. Gels are readily absorbed over the skin's surface, but are often not sufficient for the most severe cases of psoriasis. Like lotions, gels should typically be applied every 3-4 hours, or whenever your skin feels dry.
