Can Diet Impact Psoriasis?

Although there is no hard scientific data backing up the theory that diet can have an impact on psoriasis, many people who suffer from this skin disease find that certain foods can make symptoms of their condition better, or worse.

The British Journal of Dermatology has identified a link between weight loss and psoriasis severity, so eating vitamin-rich, wholesome foods is also a good strategy for maintaining a healthy weight.

Getting a good balance of vitamins and minerals can also play a part in stabilising hormones associated with mood. This may be important for your mental health living with a skin disease like psoriasis, as this could influence how you feel about your personal appearance.
